What can I say Martha Stewart has style! Every once in a while I see something online or in her Living magazine and it makes me think, I can do that! Well this year Valentine’s Day was one of those experiences. In Martha Stewart Living, February 2007 she explained how to make a heart shaped candy box, it was just too adorable to pass up. The crafty-bone inside me decided it was simple and so my lovely sister and I set out to make a few of our own. Lets just say Martha makes the big bucks for a reason, and I am not quiet as talented as the people in her organization. By now I know you are thinking, baking, I thought this was about baking, well I baked sugar cookies, my first time ever! And my husband enjoyed everyone of them, well the ones that didn’t get over cooked. But hey, I never claimed to be a pro-baker, I’m still in training! I ended up making 3 boxes two that were 5 inch hearts and a big old twelve inch for my hubby. I filled it with hand made chocolate candies, buckeyes, conversation hearts and the only sugar cookie that was small enough to fit in the box. The 3 inch heart-shaped cookies turned out better than I expected. Check out the fruits of my labors, my sister and I enjoyed the time spent crafting and baking is just always so much fun. It gives me the peace and slow speed that my work just can’t. Any way here are a few pictures of how it all turned out, it’s no Martha, but I thought it all came out pretty well.
